mortgage bond market turmoil presents buying opportunities for investors

Growing turmoil in the bond market and concerns over rising US inflation are negatively impacting agency mortgage bonds. Investors at Janus Henderson and Columbia Threadneedle Investments see this weakness as a potential buying opportunity, as spreads on these bonds have widened by about 0.3 percentage points since mid-September, reaching 1.54 percentage points over Treasury bonds, the widest since early July.
